Papers, 1871-1984, much of which concern the estate of Earl Gregg Swem and his wife, Lila Slaughter Hansbrough Swem. Includes correspondence, documents, deeds and accounts which record Swem's legal and financial transactions. Specfically there are Swem's birth certificate, marriage license, and death certificate; his wife's death certificate, and Earl Gregg Swem Jr.'s death certificate. There is also correspondence concerning Swem family genealogy; newspaper clippings, programs and photographs recording the construction and dedic ation of the Earl Gregg Swem Library of the College of William and Mary; and photographs of the Swem and Hansbrough families.
